John F. Butterworth

1924 - 2020

A celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the BROME-MISSISQUOI Funeral Complex in Cowansville. 450.266.6061

We sadly share the news that our father, John F. Butterworth, a WWII veteran (navy), has left us in his 95th year of life. His generous, compassionate and thoughtful presence will be remembered with love. He carried himself with dignity and was well respected in his community. Loving husband of the late Mary Jean (nee Farnsworth) and loving father of the late Susan Gaynor Butterworth, John was a long-term resident of Dunham, Quebec. He leaves behind his son James and daughter Joan (Robert Bouskill Jr), grandchildren Robert Price (Jennifer Melton), Shawn Butterworth, Laura Grandmaison (Benjamin), Miller Bouskill and Holland Bouskill. He also leaves behind his younger sister, Shirley (Terry) Mitchell and nieces Sally, Cynthia, Marian and Pamela. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ste. Anne’s Hospital Foundation (514-457-8484). We truly appreciated all the care, compassion and companionship to John and to us over these last years. As his late brother Charlie would likely say, rest in peace dear old Johnny.

I have fond and funny memories of Juohn scolding Susan and me as we 'sort of' graded apples in the orchard. John was a lovely man and will be missed.
